White Ribbons to Vienna, Austria!

White Ribbons in carry-on bag

Over 400 ribbons were made in collaboration with the Colorado Cancer Coalition, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Dr. Michael Gieske, Chris Draft, and numerous local survivors and family members on July 9th, 2022 at the home of Heidi & Pierre Onda.

Heidi & Pierre transported 100 of these ribbons from Denver to Boston, in checked baggage and carryon tote, to meet with a group of enthusiastic university students teamed with the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative, led by Dr. Jeffery Yang. These stellar students placed the finishing touches on 80 white ribbons and Dr. Yang will transport to the World Lung Cancer Conference in Vienna, Austria. We are encouraged by this initiative where young students are educating and raising awareness for lung cancer, this could be the first generation to know that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer and have an impact on increasing lung cancer screening rates.

Dr. Michael Gieske, a family practitioner, will be presenting at the 2022 World Conference on Lung Cancer in Vienna Austria August 6-9, 2022.
