Host a ribbon-building event & make ribbons
Ribbon-building events are one of the most powerful ways to build community in your local area. Community ribbon building capitalizes on the relationships we have within our own community, including our medical teams & cancer centers. These ribbon builds are a gateway to educating our communities and humanizing lung cancer.
Many of our members are coordinating ribbon builds with their local organizations and business, including hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowes. These are great resources for donated materials/resources too. Feel the power of tracing an original ribbon (or downloading and printing a template), cutting, painting, labeling, and signing.
In the United States alone, there are over 236,000 people diagnosed every year with lung cancer. For this grassroots movement to provide a ribbon to all impacted by lung cancer and build our advocacy community; team ribbon building and distribution is vital. The White Ribbon Project belongs to all of us!
We want a widely recognized symbol, so please maintain the “look” of The White Ribbon by following the directions below. Together we can provide a unified symbol for ALL lung cancer advocates.

Request a ribbon
Request your own White Ribbon and display it prominently! Please be aware, though, that due to high demand, we are experiencing significant delays in delivering ribbons to everyone who has placed a request. We are working hard to fulfill all the requests we have received. Our ribbons are hand-made by volunteers, and we are recruiting! The quickest way to get your own ribbon is to consider hosting a ribbon-building event.
