Mission

The White Ribbon Project promotes awareness about lung cancer by changing public perception of the disease. Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer.

Goals

Unify the disparate lung cancer community by forming The White Ribbon Project as a means to increase awareness by:

  • Distribute our white ribbons to survivors, lung cancer advocacy groups, healthcare institutions, and other supporters to increase visibility.

  • Increasing public recognition of the white ribbon as a lung cancer symbol.

  • Ensure that information the lung cancer community cares about reaches the general public by securing publications and broadcasts in major traditional media outlets.

  • Foster collaboration with other lung cancer advocacy organizations, healthcare institutions, and industry partners on projects and initiatives that serve the best interests of those affected by lung cancer.

  • Help connect people newly affected by lung cancer to other lung cancer advocacy organizations and the broader lung cancer community

  • Develop a sustainable ribbon building and distribution plan uniting those impacted by lung cancer with their community organizations/leaders/business and their cancer/medical centers.

  • Continue promoting lung cancer awareness and screening in at risk communities through grants we have received for this specific initiative.

  • Encourage and support the involvement of more lung cancer advocates in the movement.
