Anne Phillips

Anne-Phillips.jpg

Anne Phillips was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer survivor and worked to increase awareness and to end the stigma against lung cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2015 at age 42 after having a seizure and entering the hospital through the emergency room. She had no other symptoms and, like so many others, was shocked by the stage IV diagnosis.

Since the beginning of The White Ribbon Project, Anne worked closely with the co-founders to make the group what it is today. She was the first acting president and treasurer and was instrumental in establishing the website, trademark and incorporation of The White Ribbon Project. Her history of lung cancer advocacy includes traveling to Capitol Hill in April 2017 to petition members of Congress for an increase in funding for cancer research, as well as many local television appearances for lung cancer awareness activities.

Anne was a survivor, an advocate, an engineer, a mother, a friend, a creative, a wife, an animal lover, a skier, a biker, and a nature lover. Anne was much more than her cancer diagnosis. On September 2, 2022 Anne passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by her family.
