How You Can Participate
“Knowing that we are reaching out to ALL lung cancer advocates to make them feel included, to feel loved, brings Pierre and me great comfort.”
Request a ribbon
Request your own White Ribbon and display it prominently! Please be aware, though, that due to high demand, there may be delays in delivering ribbons to everyone who has placed a request. We are working hard to fulfill all the requests we have received.
Please email us at info@thewhiteribbonproject.org to learn more. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Host a ribbon-painting event
Ribbon-painting events are one of the most powerful ways to build community and raise awareness in your local area. Painting, labeling, and signing White Ribbon Project ribbons brings people together. They can include patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, medical teams, cancer centers, and other community partners and create opportunities to educate our communities and help humanize lung cancer.
The White Ribbon Project provides pre-cut wooden ribbons and official labels for community ribbon-painting events when possible. Participants can then paint, label, and sign the ribbons together, creating meaningful symbols of support that can be displayed and shared within their communities.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people in the United States are diagnosed with lung cancer, and many more family members, friends, caregivers, and healthcare professionals are affected by the disease. While it is not possible for us to provide one of our wooden white ribbons to everyone impacted by lung cancer, every ribbon that is displayed helps increase visibility, start conversations, and remind people affected by lung cancer that there is a larger community standing with them.
To help maintain a consistent and recognizable symbol for The White Ribbon Project, our official wooden ribbons are produced and supplied by The White Ribbon Project for coordinated ribbon-painting events.
If you are interested in hosting a ribbon-painting event in your community, please contact us at info@thewhiteribbonproject.org. We would be happy to discuss the event with you and help determine how we can support it.
